A hybrid is 'made' by exchanging pollen between two different plant flowers to produce a seed that will grow a new plant which exhibits characteristics of each 'parent'. Generally speaking hybrids are more vigorous growers than either of their parents and through the selective breeding process better color and form are also achieved.
