Vriesea Splenriet This is a hybrid of the specie V.splendens which grows in Trinidad, Venezuela, Guiana, and Surinam in wet, shady levels of the forest. The dark green leaves are distinctively marked with wide purplish black cross bands. Tubular bright yellow flowers emerge from each segment of the vibrant red-orange spike. Needs bright, filtered light to maintain the hot color of the inflorescence. Water about once a week. It is available in both 4" and 6" pot sizes.
